Neil J. Moore, MBA, MPA, FACHE is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NYC Health + Hospitals / Queens, since February 15, 2021. Mr. Moore, however, has had a lengthy association with several other NYC Health + Hospitals facilities prior to his appointment at the University of Maryland Medical System – Capital Region Health in 2005. He held leadership positions at Harlem Hospital Center (as Chief Financial Officer), Cumberland D&TC, Woodhull Hospital and Mental Health Center (as Deputy Chief Financial Officer), Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Nursing and Rehabilitation (as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer), East New York D&TC (as Chief Financial Officer), and Kings County Hospital Center (as Interim Deputy Chief Financial Officer).
His most recent position, prior to re-joining NYC H + H/Queens has been Principal of LIEN Healthcare Solutions, a consulting firm based in Florida providing services in the areas of start-ups, financial turnarounds and strategic planning. Prior to establishing LIEN, he was employed by University of Maryland Capital Region Health (formerly Dimensions Healthcare System or DHS) as President and CEO, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. There he was responsible for an integrated health system comprised of a number of healthcare facilities. He was successful at leading the system through a very challenging period with significant financial and operational improvements. He was key in securing the funding and a Certificate of Need to build a $750 million regional medical center for the residents of Prince Georges County, Maryland.
His professional achievements are counterbalanced by a dedication to community service. He has sat on numerous boards and advisory committees, participated in roundtable discussions, presented on a national level, held several organizational memberships and has mentored numerous individuals aspiring to careers in healthcare. Neil’s love for New York brought him back to make even a more significant contribution to the changing healthcare environment. He received his Bachelor of Science from Saint Joseph College, his Master of Public Administration in Health Policy from Long Island University, and his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the New York Institute of Technology. He also obtained certificates from New York University School of Public Health and Harvard University Business School.
