Michelle Stoddart

Michelle Stoddart is the Vice President of Community Development for Resorts World Casino, New York City. She was a member of the executive opening team that handled record-breaking attendance during the casino’s debut weekend in October 2011.

In her role, Stoddart has been managing community affairs, public relations, local business partnerships, and corporate philanthropy. Under her guidance, Resorts World has supported over 200 nonprofit organizations in the New York metropolitan area. She also serves on several boards including the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, Queens Chamber of Commerce, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL), Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens, Jamaica YMCA, and York College. She holds the position of Board Chair for JCAL.

Prior to her position with Resorts World, Stoddart was the Director of Marketing & Tourism for the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC). During her tenure, Stoddart initiated and enhanced several significant projects that directly contributed to QEDC’s growth and prominence throughout the borough and beyond. These projects included the renovation of DiscoverQueens.info, the first NYC county-based tourism website; and the evolution of Queens Restaurant Week and the QEDC’s flagship fundraiser, “Queens: A Taste of the World”.

Currently, Stoddart has been spearheading The Gumbo Coalition University, a six-week leadership webinar series, created in partnership with former New Orlean’s mayor and president of the National Urban League, Marc Morial. In December 2020, City and State New York magazine named Stoddart on their ‘The 2020 Responsible 100’ list, a compendium of top leaders in NYC’s private sector with significant community impact.

Stoddart graduated with a BA in Journalism from Baruch College in New York City.
