Shanequa E. Moore has been serving as the founder and CEO at the I’RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation where she has devoted 100 percent of her career to serving vulnerable and disadvantaged children, youth and families for the past 16 years. She has extensive experience in clinical and policy practice in multiple settings including clinics, schools, law firms and government.
Moore obtained her bachelor’s degree at Nyack College in Psychology where she graduated magna cum laude and her master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work in 2010. She was mentored by pioneering women of excellence in the field of Social Work.
Her recent activities include developing a comprehensive mental health program model for children in New York City Public schools where over 1,000 students are provided with mental health and supportive services, as well as the launching of a Montessori Pre-K program with the New York City Department of Education in Staten Island.
Moore has also served as State Representative with the New York State Office of Children & Family Services where she oversees the operations of over 60 early childhood programs to ensure compliance with New York State policy and law. Moore has been the lead state investigator on child abuse and child neglect cases for children in early childhood education programs in Westchester county.
Moore’s aspirations are to help reform education in New York City, the child welfare and juvenile justice system, and improve the quality of life of immigrant children and low-income families. Above all, Moore is a loving devoted mother to her 8 year old daughter Genesis who shares her mom’s passion and aspires to be just like her when she grows up.
